We're making our headquarters on Euston Road available as an official respite centre for local NHS staff responding to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

An agreement has been reached with University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH). It will see the ground floor of the Gibbs Building, 215 Euston Road, temporarily adapted for healthcare workers, offering a safe space for them to:

  • have a change of scene from the hospital
  • have a nap
  • eat and drink
  • get psychological health and wellbeing support.

Opening today, the respite centre will be staffed by volunteers, including some Wellcome staff, and managed by a centre manager and a volunteer manager.

For any enquiries about the centre, contact uclhrespitecentre@wellcome.ac.uk.
