He brings rich and varied experience in operational leadership roles from the private and public sectors, most recently as Chief Executive Officer of Hakluyt & Company, an international business consultancy.
Paul's professional experience also includes roles as Deputy Vice-Chancellor and COO of Macquarie University in Australia, a senior civil servant advising the Australian Prime Minister and Cabinet, a partner in McKinsey & Co’s management consultancy practice and a commanding officer in the Royal Navy.

Paul starts his new role at Wellcome on 2 September 2019.
