Before you apply

  • Please check you can demonstrate that your skills, qualities, experience and qualifications meet the requirements of the role set out in the job advert and description.
  • Review your CV to make sure that it highlights the experience, skills and qualifications you have that are relevant to the role and consider summarising this in the covering letter or application form.

Register for job alerts

You can sign up to general job alerts by registering for ‘search agent’.

To set up a search agent:

  • Go to the vacancies search.
  • Click on the ‘Sign in/register’ link in the top right-hand corner.
  • To register, you will need to accept the site privacy policy and provide an email, password, and security question and answer.
  • Use the ‘Search agent manager’ to set up an email alert for new posts that meet your criteria. 

How to apply

Once you've registered to apply for jobs using our application system, you can use your login to apply for any vacancy or to amend your details at any time.

To access a saved application:

  • Go to the vacancies search.
  • Click on the ‘Sign in/register’ link in the top right-hand corner.
  • Log in using the same credentials that you used when starting your application.
  • Click on ‘Saved drafts’.
  • Click on the green arrow icon in the ‘Continue’ column.

Your username and password are case sensitive and the system locks for 30 minutes if there are three attempts to access an account with the wrong login details.

We can’t unlock temporarily locked accounts.

Troubleshooting

If you have any problems when you try to log in or view jobs:

  • clear your browser cookies and cache, and any saved passwords
  • use an alternative browser (Chrome and Firefox are available with any operating system)
  • use the reset password option.

Application deadlines

All our job vacancies close at 23:59 on the closing date. We don’t accept applications submitted after the closing date.

We can only accept applications made online through the application system.

We’ll let you know as soon as possible whether or not you’ve been shortlisted for interview.

Interviews

We’ll contact you with the date and time of your interview.  

Interviews usually take place at our London headquarters.

Your interviewers will usually be the manager for the post and/or head of department.

For some roles, you may have a second interview with other interviewers.

Depending on the role, we may also ask you to complete some form of assessment or test, or to provide a presentation. We’ll send you details once your interview time and date is confirmed.  

The interview and any assessments will focus on seeing how well you can show you can meet the requirements of the role. It’s always good to have specific examples that demonstrate your experience.

Please let us know if you require any special arrangements to be made to enable you to attend the interview.

Job offers

We’ll contact you to let you know the outcome of your interview as soon as possible after the interview.

If you’ve been successful, we’ll make you a job offer. This will be subject to satisfactory references.

For some roles, we’ll need to complete other checks eg a Disclosure and Barring check.

Other information

We aren’t able to accept speculative applications – you need to apply for a specific role.

Feedback

Owing to the large number of applications we get, we are unable to give personal and specific feedback to every applicant.

If you have an interview but don’t get the job, we will provide feedback if you request it.
