Project summary

Young peer researchers aged 10–18 in areas of high deprivation in Glasgow and Dundee will be supported to collect data from their peers in their own communities on how their local area affects their health. They will use this data and their own experiences to conduct ethnographic field research, taking case notes and visually documenting the areas they decide to explore.

The young peer researchers will analyse the findings to identify what it is about areas of high deprivation that has a negative impact on the health of children and young people who live there.

The research will result in policy recommendations to support local and national government to develop communities that support better, more equitable health. The children and young people will be involved in the dissemination of the findings.
